Red Bull Wake of Fame

Red Bull held it's first annual Wake of Fame competition. A new style of wake competitions using the new Sesitech Cable System 2.0. A straight lane cable system as opposed to the tradition circle cable system found in most parks. I had the privilege of meeting up with Brandon Todd from Red Bull and the media rep for the event Lisa. Unknown to me, DJ Billy Gotti (a close friend) was spinning the event, or acquiring a press pass and getting in to even register for one would have been a lot easier. As some of you may know, I have shot a few events with Billy earlier this year, such as the Playboy Golf Tournament Pre-Party on South Beach (thank you again for that!).

The event was amazing. It's been a long time since I have been boarding but this made it so much worse. The event consisted of 12 wakeboarders and 6 wakeskaters, the course though seemed better suited for the boarders however. I decided I am going to start building my extreme sports side of the portfolio. I talked to Lisa briefly about their photographers and I think it would be awesome to be a go-to guy for them. Not interested as of current on touring the way some of their photographers do, but having full access to an event definitely is.

Makers' Shoes

Makers' Shoes makes high fashion shoes for women based in the art district of Miami, FL. I was asked to join a team of a few friends and shoot a postcard campaign for FFaNY a shoe convention in NYC. The shoes have a huge latin feel, but break out of the latin standard. They push themselves to not be a 4 season design company, but instead present new styles and visions every month. Kind of a tall order, I think, with the amount of shoes they come out with every month.

The campaign was designed around a quick view postcard that will be handed out to general public at FFaNY in NYC, focusing on the merchant demographic. Trying to highlight style and vision of Makers' while not trying to overload the card with information and clutter. I had the privilege of working with Marc Charleston(graphic originator) and Schubert David (artistic kingpin), with the overall ship steering from Weyleen Ma (to many titles to list). The very beautiful talent was Tiffany Azmouz (also asst. stylist for the shoot) and Adriana Yanes. Taken in the streets of the Miami Art District. Despite the lack of sleep for everyone, it was an amazing day, with awesome friends and colleagues. Enjoy!
